About Aragorn
He's one of the main characters of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and of course of Peter Jackson's unforgettable movie version of the books.
Why Estel?
When Arathorn, Aragorn's father, died, Aragorn and his mother moved to Rivendell, under Elrond's protection. Elrond decided to keep Aragorn's real identity secret, and called him Estel, the elvish for Hope. Aragorn grew up in Rivendell, and Elrond soon learned to love him as a son. He told Aragorn the truth about his lineage only when he was old enough to understand his duties as Isildur's heir. As a matter of fact, Estel is also the name by which Aragorn met his beloved Arwen for the very first time.
